About V

Viktor in a red winter jacket outside a diner

Viktor is a happy and caring boy interested in animals, Lego, technology, chess, being outdoors and exploring things – and, since becoming a teenager, also Brazilian jiu-jitsu (kids group) and gaming. Through this blog we share the many fun things we can do despite long-term health issues – for family and friends, but also to maybe give some hope to parents whose child has just been diagnosed.

Outdoor adventures

🌲Outdoor adventures

Dog walks, hiking and camping, snow caves, alpine skiing and snow-shoeing through the forests. V is a walking, talking animal expert – tracks, poo and eating marks included.

Building projects

🔧Building projects

From an early age V wanted to know how things work – anything that can be pressed, turned or switched.

Furry friends

🐾Furry friends

Growing up with our lovely Rhodesian Ridgeback, V loves pretty much any animal. Except slugs, ticks, flies and mosquitoes.

Travels

🚐Travels

Road trips in our "DalaCalifornia Adventure Van", ferries and trains – all of Europe is within driving distance(ish).

Friends and visitors

🎉Friends and visitors

Friends and visitors who make every day more fun – in the snow, at the lake or around the campfire.

What is Diamond-Blackfan Anaemia?

DBA is a rare blood disorder. Red blood cells carry oxygen to all other cells in the body and are normally made in the bone marrow. In children with DBA, many of the cells that would have become red blood cells fail to develop – so people like Viktor need regular blood transfusions to live. V gets one every three weeks.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who donates blood! PS: TACK! ❤️
