Eager to see the world early.

The plan seemed easy enough. Three months before the due date, we'd visit friends and family in Germany for two weeks on a calm road trip, including our dog Nandi.
Except.
The water broke during an evening at our friends. Rushing off to hospital by ambulance, leaving behind a very worried dog and not knowing what to expect, we learned that there was enough water left for our boy to "stay inside" a few more days at least. Cortison treatment to speed up lung development was given, and our boy stayed about another ten days before he was born in week 31+5.
Weighting only 1165g, he was not a big guy, but he was strong enough to be born without a caeserian.
We had pretty much settled on a name, and now it seemed clear.
Viktor
Due to his low birth weight, and a number of complications, he had to spend few weeks in the incubator, only having brief moments outside on mummy's and pappa's chest, before being released from hospital two weeks passed his "regular due date", ten weeks later.
Some slightly odd formalities involved having to sign a form for Viktor that he didn't intentionally travel to Germany for medical services. The hospital team in Germany was amazing (special thanks to wonderful Martina M. and her staff).
